RE: Purging brand new propane tank question?

You don't purge it.
Take it to a propane supplier and tell them it's a new tank. They will know that it needs to be purged and will do so before filling it for you.
I suggest a full retail propane outlet..not a gas station where the attendant runs out and fills propane between selling beef jerky, beer and cigarettes.

RE: Mice Problems - Mothball Odors

Put a bunch of dead mice in your trailer and seal it up.. that should get rid of the moth ball odor...
Seriously, as swebber said, air it out.
Here is a product you might also try.

RE: Equal-i-zer vs. Reese Dual Cam HP

I've had both systems and the Equalizer Equalizer is much easier to hook up.
I now don't need any tools to hook up or unhook. The bars slip right on to the L-Brackets and I just slip the L-Pins on and I'm done with it. No need to have a tool to tighten anything up with now. They slip on they slip off.
Now I am completely confused..:h
What dual cam did you have? I have never used any "tools to tighten anything up with" when I hook up my dual cam.
Help me out with this one...maybe I am doing something wrong.

RE: Tow Haul Usage?

I noticed alot of people say they stay in tow/haul mode all of the time. I have a 2007 Chevy 2500 diesel and a 6500-7000 lb TT. Would you recommend using tow/haul even on flat ground? Is there a time where you wouldn't use it?
If you are towing...YES. Leave it in tow/haul all the time.
Changes the shift points and helps keep the Allison cooler.

RE: Equal-i-zer vs. Reese Dual Cam HP

The argument that they are both very good and are both superior to a friction bar is TRUE.
The standard argument that Equal-i-zer is "easier to hook up" is simply NOT TRUE.
I know from experience that one IS quieter than the other but I will let the debate rage on about that.
I also know from experience that you can't go wrong with either and either will be better than what you have now.
(are you more confused than ever now that you have read my opinion?)

RE: wd hitch advice

You will get a lot of detailed, expert advice here on this issue. I try to keep things as simple as possible so here is the very short course in wd-101.
Level the TOW vehicle with w/d bar adjustment.Level the TT with the hitch height adjustment.Level the w/d bars with the angle adjustment on the hitch head.
There are some variables involved here and they all must work in concert with one another.

RE: 2005 Komfort Trailerblazer T25S

Tom,
We have a Komfort and it is good...but so was our Fleetwood and so was our Trail-lite.
As with any trailer that you buy used, it's only as good as it's previous owner. Check and re-check it carefully.
Take a flashlight and look behind cabinets, underneath and in all the hidden spaces as well as testing all systems.
They all "look" good when you stand in the middle of the floor and spin around.

RE: Hose Carrier on the TT

The guy who installed our new furnace at home had these really heavy duty long zip ties. He used them to secure some of the duct ends. These things are super heavy, super strong and plenty long.
I'm sure you could get a few from one of your local heating and air conditioning outfits.

RE: Hmmm leak on a new unit

Hard to tell without seeing it in person. But, you are wise to get the dealer involved ASAP. It's a new unit and nothing good can come of leaks.
I agree with TURK2500. Make sure you document everything.
Don't let the dealer tell you "It's Normal."

RE: Airstreams?

The difference would add up to chump change.
If you are going to pull a 30 foot 9000 pound anything, it's going to take energy and it's going to cost money.
Also, let's see. A regular design trailer costs + - $20K - $30K. Airstreams go $60K+... Nice trailer, but are you really saving money on fuel?

RE: New Trailer

No way can you anticipate and prepare for it all. I suggest you camp relatively close to services.... like a WalMart, etc.
Take a note pad and a credit card and just go.
We have done a lot of camping for a long time and we still find ourselves running out for this and that along the way.
Have a great trip and enjoy your new adventure.
